Hong Kong in my Heart – Photographic Exhibition and Seminar at AIA Central
26 August, 2017
Professional and amateur photographers gathered at the sky lobby of AIA Central to enjoy an outstanding exhibition of local photographic talents, and share in a seminar given by leading experts.
The exhibition, “Hong Kong in my Heart”, which opened to the public on 7th August, is organised by the Por Yen Charitable Foundation as part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s re-unification with China.
The seminar today featured presentations by Vincent Cheng of Starhouse Production – with an exotic focus on pictures taken from Hong Kong of the wonders of outer space – and Gilbert Yu, Founder of Photo Top 10, which specializes in new and challenging images of the city itself.
A spokesman for the Por Yen Foundation, Andrew Wells, Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executor Officer said that he was delighted with the enthusiasm shown by participants. “The pictures were all taken by amateur photographers of all ages and backgrounds. They show that artistic appreciation of our beautiful city is on the up and up”, he added.
Dr. Evelyn Lam, CEO of the Foundation, said that the event was in the broad-based philanthropic tradition established by her grandfather, Mr. Lim Por Yen. “We are grateful for AIA Central as venue sponsor in this event and hope to expand on the success of the event in the years ahead”, she said.
The seminar was attended by members of various photographic societies, Foundation representatives and students and teachers from the Yan Chai Hospital Lim Por Yen secondary school. The exhibition will continue to be open to the public until 2nd September.
