2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run ® for Special Olympics

The Law Enforcement Torch Run ® (LETR) for Special Olympics, an annual charity run, was held at the Sha Tin Sports Ground on 29 April, 2018. The LETR for Special Olympics was co-organized by Special Olympics Hong Kong, Correctional Services Department, Customs & Excise Department, Fire Services Department, Government Flying Service, Hong Kong Police Force, Immigration Department, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Hong Kong Sports Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability (Formerly HKSAM), and Leisure and Cultural Services Department. About HK$2.2 million fund was raised in this annual charity run with over 3,700 participants from the law enforcement departments, special schools, social groups and general public.
Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, JP, Secretary for Security and Mrs. Laura Ling, chairlady of Special Olympics Hong Kong are the officiating guests of the Law Enforcement Torch Run ® for Special Olympics. Mrs. Ling stated that with the fund raised this year, over 70 athletes will have the opportunity to join the “2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games” to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate.
