Hong Kong Women’s Ice Hockey League Opening Ceremony

15 November, 2016

Hong Kong Women’s Ice Hockey League (HKWIHL) 2016 - 2017 had started its fourth hockey season early in Sept. Three teams, Chicco Hong Kong, Generation Next, and Por Yen Charitable Foundation (百欣慈善基金), are competing for the champion of the HKWIHL.

The chairman & directors of the Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association (HKIHA) and Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club (HKAHC) and other guests were invited for the league’s opening ceremony at Mega Ice.

This league caters to all female players in Hong Kong and sets the ground work for consistent player development. In addition to the games there will be monthly practices which are structured and executed by coaches. HKWIHL aims at being a training ground and part of a feeder system for the Hong Kong Women’s National Ice Hockey Team (HKWNIHT) which is now eligible for IIHF World Championship competition.

HKWIHL is organized by an experienced team which includes, Women’s Ice Hockey Organization (WIHO) and Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club (HKAHC) and sanctioned by Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association (HKIHA).
