Yan Chai Hospital Lim Por Yen Secondary School 34th Graduation Ceremony (2016-2017)

Yan Chai Hospital started its service since 1973 and was the only charitable organization servicing the residents in the Tsuen Wan district at that time. Early 1979, the Board of Yan Chai Hospital was interested in building a school and wished to expand its service for the society, had the biggest support from the Education Bureau and the former Chairman and Honorary Advisory, Dr. Lam Kim Ming’s proposal to build the first Yan Chai Hospital school. Yan Chai Hospital faced a lot of difficulties during construction time. Fortunately the Education Bureau and the Board including late Mr. Lim Por Yen’s donation helped solved the problem one by one. Yan Chai Hospital Lim Por Yen Secondary School eventually was in service in the year 1982.
Yan Chai Hospital Lim Por Yen Secondary School’s 34th Gradation Ceremony taken place on 28th June 2017 in the school hall. Mr. Vincent Chan, Senior Manager of Por Yen Charitable Foundation Limited (Por Yen Foundation) represented Por Yen Foundation to present the awards to 5 students from different level of classes who has distinctive performance in Chinese, English, Mathematics, Chinese History and the Physical Education subjects.
The Yan Chai Hospital Lim Por Yen Secondary School had over a hundred students graduate this year. Professor Frederick Ma Si Hang, GBS, JP, Chairman of the MTR Corporation and Chairman of The Education University of Hong Kong’s governing council was the honorary officiating guest in the ceremony.
